WHY STEM?
Promote, Prepare, and Persevere
The case for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) begins with the United States (U.S.) falling behind in skilled STEM workers with reported science degrees being minimal. A STEM education not only enhances critical thinking skills but also gives people the chance to change the world and shape their lives. To remain competitive, the U.S. has decided to support the integration of STEM concepts into the educational system.
The goal of a STEM education is to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the school curriculum so that 21st Century skills may remain developed to prepare our next generation of leaders. To enhance the pipeline, a STEM education must begin at an early age to help them build skills that create a solid foundation for future learning.
